We are delighted to share that Chris Bruerton will be our Musical Director from January 2027
Chris is now based in Oxford after fourteen busy years with The King’s Singers, and we are really looking forward to working together!
Before he joins us officially in January, Chris will also be leading our Come & Sing Duruflé Requiem on 3rd October
New Zealand baritone, Chris Bruerton, has been a member of the internationally-acclaimed British acappella ensemble The King’s Singers for the past fourteen years.
Having travelled the world extensively, performing in many of the world’s most prestigious concert venues, he decided to hang up his touring boots in May 2026 to spend more time with his wife Liz in their home in Oxford, UK. It’s also given him the chance to return to his teaching roots and work with musicians of all ages, especially the next generation of budding young musicians, helping them achieve their stage dreams. He remains an active singer, vocal coach, conductor and mentor.
In his spare time he’s a keen cook, enthusiastic gardener, sociable runner and whisky lover.
