The choir has some 60 singers and covers a wide and varied repertoire, giving four or five concerts a year in the South Buckinghamshire area, and has also sung in London\u2019s major concert halls and in other European cities. Foreign tours have included Bavaria, St Petersburg and Tallinn, Malta, and Segovia (Spain). The choir also hosts <em>Come &amp; Sing<\/em>\u00a0days twice a year, open to all choral singers, at which a major work of the choral repertoire is studied in depth, before being performed for families and friends.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Recording credits include Berlioz\u2019s\u00a0<em>Te Deum<\/em>\u00a0under Abbado, Langlais\u2019\u00a0<em>Salve Regina<\/em>\u00a0and Burgon\u2019s\u00a0<em>Requiem<\/em>, and a compilation of\u00a0<em>Music for the Last Night of the Proms\u00a0<\/em>with the RPO and Sir Charles Groves which was a best seller at the time of its release. The choir has also published its own CDs of recent concert recordings: for details <a href=\"https:\/\/wooburnsingers.org.uk\/?page_id=256\">see here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The choir celebrated its 50th anniversary in May 2017 with a special concert featuring music from the choir\u2019s extensive repertoire. In recent years, the choir has given a number of first performances: \u00a0\u00a0Gabriel Jackson\u2019s<em> Three Prayers and a Vision of Light<\/em>\u00a0in 2013, Colin Riley\u2019s <em>Roads Shining Like River Up Hill After Rain<\/em> in 2017 and Neil Brand\u2019s <em>Say not the Struggle nought Availeth<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Wooburn Singers is also in demand for other functions: in October 2010 the group was invited by Lady Howe, the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, to sing at her Shrieval Service; the group also sings annually at a local charity event for the NSPCC at Hedsor House and braves the cold to sing carols at Beaconsfield Station for Ian Rennie Hospice.
